Cake flavours
Here are a selection of my most popular cakes and fillings. Cake flavours can also be combined, with different flavours for each of the tiers or different flavours for the individual cakes and cupcakes. For the finish, the cake can be coated in white, milk or dark chocolate or marzipan and sugarpaste for a more traditional finish. I don't use paste chocolate and baking chocolate for my cake coatings and decorations just fine couverture chocolate, as I feel there is no comparison to both the taste and finish (and the smell!). Please remember that you can also double up your wedding cake as dessert.
Chocolate cake
My chocolate cake is one of my most requested cakes. It is a rich and moist dark chocolate cake, layered with a fresh Cornish cream and chocolate ganache.
Fruit cake
I carefully select the dried fruit for flavour and juiciness including delicious organic prunes, three varieties of raisins and undyed cherries. The fruit is then soaked for several days in brandy to get it really juicy. The result is a wonderfully moist and morish fruit cake.
Lemon cake
Our zesty lemon drizzle cake is made using unwaxed lemons and is layered in a lemon curd buttercream.
Carrot cake
A moist carrot cake made using organic carrots, mixed spices and pecan nuts and is layered with an orange buttercream.
Vanilla cake
A vanilla sponge made with real vanilla extract and layered with raspberry or strawberry jam and vanilla bean buttercream
Orange and poppy seed cake
The addition of poppy seeds to this lovely moist orange cake gives it a wonderful crunch. Layered with an orange buttercream.
Please note: whilst we do not use nuts in all our recipes, we do have them in our kitchen so we can't guarantee any of our cakes or chocolates to be nut free.
From design to the finish product
You may see a cake in the galleries that you like or you may have an idea for a cake (whether it's just a colour, flower or even a pattern) but can't quite visualise it. Prior to creating your cake, I can produce a design to help you choose what is right for you - these are often works of art in themselves!

Ordering a cake
I ideally require 3 months notice for wedding cake orders (especially if I need to bake a fruit cake, to give it time to mature), but typically I advise that you book as far in advance as possible, as some dates can get booked up very quickly. If your order is more urgent, do please get in contact and I will try and help. To order a cake please contact me to check that the date is available. You can then arrange an appointment to visit or I can discuss ideas with you by telephone or by email. I will then send you a booking form (a deposit of £150 is required).
